Who we are?
The European Shoah Legacy Institute (ESLI) is an international public benefit corporation established in 2010 to monitor and promote the compliance to the principles of the Terezin Declaration endorsed by 47 countries on June 30, 2009. Founded upon the consensus of 47 countries, ESLI has a unique competence as well as the broadest mandate on issues related to protection of rights of Holocaust survivors and other victims of Nazi persecution.
What we do?
As tasked by the Terezin Declaration, the European Shoah Legacy Institute monitors and advocates within a field of five crucial, unresolved issues in the post-Holocaust world: Welfare of Holocaust Survivors and Other Victims of Nazi Persecution; Restitution and Compensation for Immovable Property; Recovery of Looted Art; Recovery and Study of Judaica Objects; and Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research.
